            <title>Feinstein Aide Takes Starring Role At MPAA </title>
            <description><![CDATA[<span class="mt-enclosure mt-enclosure-image" style="display: inline;"><a href="http://undertheinfluence.nationaljournal.com/Headshot%20-%20Howard%20Gantman.JPG"><img alt="Headshot - Howard Gantman.JPG" src="http://undertheinfluence.nationaljournal.com/Headshot%20-%20Howard%20Gantman-thumb-250x297.jpg" class="mt-image-right" style="margin: 0pt 0pt 20px 20px; float: right;" width="250" height="297" /></a></span><strong>Howard Gantman</strong>, a former aide to Sen. <strong>Dianne Feinstein</strong>, D-Calif., has been named vice president of corporate communications at the Motion Picture Association of America.<br /><p>Gantman joined the MPAA in August as senior communications consultant and previously was Feinstein's staff director at the Senate Rules and Administration Committee. He also served as staff director of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies where he was responsible for overseeing <b>President Obama's</b> swearing in ceremony. Prior to work the committees, Gantman was Feinstein's communications director for nine years.</p>

<p>"The MPAA is at a critical time in its evolution as the voice and advocate of the American motion picture, home video and television industries around the world," <strong>Dan Glickman</strong>, chairman and CEO of the MPAA, said in a statement. "Howard's unique combination of expertise in public affairs and communications, will make him a critical player."</p>

<p>In his new position, Gantman will oversee MPAA's communications program in Washington. <strong>Elizabeth Kaltman</strong>, vice president of corporate communications will oversee MPAA communications in Los Angeles.&nbsp;</p><p>In 2007, National Journal <a href="http://www.nationaljournal.com/njmagazine/nj_20070623_41.php">profiled</a> (subscription) Gantman as part of our <i>Hill people</i> series.<br /></p><p>(Photo of Gantman provided by MPAA)<br /></p>]]></description>
