CNN has put its crack reporting team to work to find out where the top power spots are in the nation's capital for lunching. The results are... not surprising.

Getting the top spot is Charlie Palmer Steak. The restaurant is located at the base of Capitol Hill and "depending on the week" the haunt serves "between 70 and 80 congressmen and between 20 and 30 senators," CNN said.

And hold on to your seats.  Another popular destination is The Palm, an eatery it says White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel "has frequented" since the days of the Clinton administration.

Not much new here, folks. Most people in D.C. know these restaurants are popular with lawmakers and lobbyists. A better place to look for the power dining spots in D.C. are via the Sunlight Foundation's Party Time blog which last year combed through fundraiser lists and found the most popular restaurants where the money-gathering events are hosted.
