Student Loan Industry Advocates For Choice
A coalition of state and student loan professionals announced a campaign this week to protect choice and services in federal student loans. The initiative is a reaction to a bill passed by the House last month to convert the federally subsidized private student-lending industry into a direct loan program run by the Education Department.
According the campaign, up to 35,000 jobs will be lost if the House bill becomes law. The supporters of the initiative are also concerned about loss of choice, competition and value-added services such as financial literacy education.
As an alternative to the House bill, which would save up to $87 billion according to the Congressional Budget Office, ProtectStudentChoice.org supports the Community Proposal. Developed by the student loan industry, the Community Proposal would preserve private banks' ability to originate federally-guaranteed loans and generate similar savings, albeit less than the House version.

Student loan industry again? I wonder if they are ever going to come to a conclusion. There is indeed a need for choice and some fixing of the old system will do as well because it stopped working. Getting an online masters of public health degree was easy for me, but there are students who really need that loan so obviously they are very interested in this issue.

From what I heard getting a student loan is way more difficult than it used to be. When I chose one of the criminology masters programs I knew I needed a loan and it wasn't hard at all to obtain it. This happened 10 years ago, though. Times changed and the education system seems to be going down, I'm really concerned about my children and grandchildren.

I have $35,000 saved up to put a down payment on my home. The student loans I took to pay for my rn-bsn online programs total around $35,000, I have no other debt. My parents are adamant that I pay off my student loans, then think about saving up and buying a house. I currently pay $450 a month in student loans, it would take around six and a half years to earn back the money spent on the loans. I also get tax breaks on the loan interest and assuming the economy doesn't stay in the tank, in five years I'll still be paying the same amount but earning more.

Hopefully they would consider the option you are suggesting; apart from the fact. That such a large number of people would, lose jobs, the bill did not have any other objectionable provisions. If the eduction department is going to handle the entire process then that would be beneficial for students. Financial aid is available to you even when you study online. The courses offered online are varied; higher degrees like an mba in healthcare management could be done online too.

Education sector definitely needs reforms. If you take a closer look at the way things are working, you would find that there are areas, where reforms are needed. Even the courses that the institutes, offer mostly fail to to meet the expectations of the students. However, online courses are finding many takers due to the fact, that these are much more flexible. There are institutes such as San Diego colleges which offer online courses in different streams.

I think currently the student loans system needs to be restructured in order to keep working. Back in the 80's or the 90's a much higher percentage of U.S. high school graduates went to College or University than now, I remember how motivated I used to feel by the prospect of having a forensic psychologist salary and a University degree. Although both my parents were working people, and we were never that rich, they still managed with great efforts to put my sister and me through college, without taking on study loans. I think most of the middle-class citizens today can't afford this any longer, and this is an issue we need to address.

This alternative is much better than the previous proposal. There are many issues related to education sector; online eduction is doing far better. Not just the students who can opt for online course, but the professionals too have the chance to upgrade their skills with cutting edge courses like educational technology masters degree.

Sometimes due to rigidity in the loan policy, students do not get loans. So their dream of doing a course remains incomplete. But they should be aware of the fact that, in the online mode, there are financial aids available. So use these opportunities. I am doing nursing course online; I searched a lot for good nursing schools in Utah then I found the best course on offer.

They should resolve this issue as soon and as positively as possible. Whichever decision they take that must be in favor of students' interest. Education is an important tool that helps us shape our career in a better way. New courses like organizational leadership degree could help you be a better professional. This course is could be done online.

Student loans are a delicate subject for most young people. I read a survery about college financing and it turns out that in 2011 over 78% of all college freshmen in Chicago had to take some form of student loan. I for one was lucky enough that back when I graduated from High School, rn-msn programs were receiving federal funding, and I had good grades so I qualified for a scholarship, still most students today aren't that lucky, and I salute the state's innitiative to offer more choices for young people looking for higher education.

I think today's education sector needs to work on a lot of issues. Only then they could improve the existing condition. Most of the students decide to quit their degrees halfway because they are not satisfied with it. So institutes need to remould the courses. Students have a great alternative option however; online education which lets them do doctorate degrees in education too.

The job market is already too competitive. In this scenario job losses will affect people a lot. To find a suitable job in this market all you need to do is to, choose a professional course. So that you could get a better job. Get a healthcare administration degree for getting a good job in the healthcare sector.

Students would know better what choice they should make. I remember when I was in college, I took out education loan; it helped me a lot in my higher studies too. I re payed the loan when I found the job. When I decided to change my career and take up the job of a teacher, I went for online education. I completed online teaching certification.

It is not very clear, whether the students are going to benefit or not. Educational loans help students fulfill their lifelong dreams. So while making any amendment considering loan policy, or re framing it, interest of students must be considered. Students now mostly opt for online degrees like master in public administration.

May be this bill should be reconsidered before making it a law. If there are such negative consequences, then a reformatting is needed. Many students prefer to do both work and study. I think for such students doing online education is a better option. I am doing social work masters degree online.

What you do right here is huge. I have said this before and I am saying this again, we are lucky to have such organizations like Helios Education Foundation in our community. I really hope all your objectives will be fulfilled for your next project. This is something you can rarely see, even from public and private educational institutions. I have a friend who has recently entered the online marketing mba program and she is thrilled with so many practice and study opportunities that lay in front of her. I hope things will stay this way as long as possible.

Maybe they become more realistic since they are the generation with a million study opportunities but lingering in this recession climate that makes it harder for them to achieve their professional goals. I happen to be one of them and I came up with a plan. I decided to start a leadership certificate and to get a full time job in order to support all daily costs. This is the best solution we have. There are the most prestigious educational institutions for you out there on online platforms. We still have a chance to continue our studies.

I am sorry to say that I have to agree with this new bill! We live in a very dark economical time and we have to save as much money as we can. I see no reason why the government should not cut where they can! I got fired too but I recently got an online business administration degree and opened my own little shop. The conclusion is that: life exists after getting fired.

I received a student loan when I wanted to get into college and I wasn't the brightest at that moment. Now, I've got my masters degree information security I managed to pay the student loan and my life is heading in a pretty good direction. In my opinion the student loans problem is a very complicated situation now that will not be resolved in the near future. I must agree with some of the users that posted here; there should be some tests for the student loan.

I have just finished one of those rn to bsn online programs and I have to admit if I hadn't got a student loan for college I wouldn't be here now. I have a wonderful job at a local clinic and when I'm free I volunteer at a local shelter. I'll pay off the loan in several years and thank you for the chance.

I have to agree with Neil and Sofia that student loans are very important nowadays but not always the one who needs it, gets it. I recently got a degree in curriculum and instruction and I will try to take the teacher exam in the near future. I feel that our education system is falling apart and I really want to help it. I seriously think that our government should at least make the people applying for the student loan take an extra exam!

I went to college thanks to a student loan and I managed to pay it off pretty quick. I have recently earned a human services degree online and I must say I am pretty pleased with myself. I have a good job a nice house and a lovely fiancee and all thanks to the student loan that I've got when I was younger.

Student loans, is a topic of great interest among students. This is the only way some of them can get the financial help needed. When I got my criminal justice degree things were a bit worse regarding loans. Now, as far as I see they got better. I can't be sure, since I still see students complaining, but there can never be enough money for everyone.

Today you can choose a RN to BSN online program and cut down some costs. Online education has really grown in the past 2 years. People are starting to understand the advantages of choosing an online college education. If we do have that much advanced technology at our disposal, why not use it for our benefit, right?

I am interested in anything that has to do with rescuing education. Sometimes, it takes many years of work and building strategies to handle the right approach concerning education and make these strategies clearly understood to your country. Someone`s personal achievement of obtaining an organizational management degree is the bright example of succeeding with reinforcing these strategies in the educational system.

With student loans you should make sure that you get the right one for your needs so that you don;t end up paying more for it in the long run. Otherwise you may end up needing to get financial help from a professional in order to get you personal finances back under control.

Improving the student loan to the welfare of the students is good but the government should watch the lending industries. The students would be given all their needs for their education.
Wanna create education essays for this topic dude.
